Sometimes as a photographer, you have an idea in your mind about a brilliant shot that you want to do. And then there are variables, especially when you work with kids and babies. Moods, sleep schedules, lighting, time restraints… all of these affect getting that perfect shot.
Well, as soon as I walked into this Charlotte family’s home to photograph their newborn, I knew that I wanted to photograph him on the orange bench in their foyer. It was perfect. The shape was beautiful, the color was bright, and the proportions were just right for emphasizing the tininess of a sleeping newborn. My fingers were crossed through the whole session as we worked that this shot would work out. Little A was sleeping soundly, and Dad helped me bring him and pose him on the bench, staying right by his side for safety. I had to use some additional bounced light and VOILA, the perfect end to a perfect baby photo session!
We used lots of natural light for this shoot, making good use of the sunshine and the family’s big windows. Little A was a perfect baby to photograph! I love his wide eyes, and the way that he looks at his parents. We even got the grandparents to stop by for some pictures.
All in all it was a perfect day and perfect photo shoot!
Thank you so much H family…. You are wonderful!
