tantrums

I remember a day in the not so distant past where I would see a toddler throwing themselves down in a Target aisle, kicking and screaming, and think that I would NEVER be one of those parents.  I would quickly head to a different area of the store, away from the nuisance, and continue my peaceful shopping.  Oh what life has in store for us sometimes!!!

The thing that terrifies me is Willow is not even technically two yet.  But, all I can think of is that we are in the midst of the “terrible twos”.  Tonight was bad.  It was really awful.  Basically a non stop tantrum throughout Target.  What I want to know is how do kids know to throw themselves on the floor and kick their feet while screaming.  I mean, this is not something that is taught to them.  No one ever teaches them “when you don’t get what you want, the best thing to do is lay down like this, scream in an un-human voice and kick erratically so no one in their right mind would attempt to pick you up and keep shopping.  It is the ultimate “I mean business” tantrum.  The universal language of toddlers that do not get what they want.  Even if what they want is a 2 wheel bike that is made for an adult.  FamAlbum0975Where does it come from and how long is it gonna last???!!!  Where’s that sweet little baby that I brought home??
