Woo hoo! This is the first time I’m posting portraits taken at my brand-spankin’ new studio in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte. I actually shot a boatload of families there before the holidays, but never got around to blogging them. That whole Christmas thing came up and kept me pretty busy with my family.
Well… this little guy was a bundle of energy. I asked him to ride the tricycle down the sidewalk and set up my shot when–whoosh– he was halfway down the block and nearly out of sight. It was a ton of fun working with him and his exuberance. I broke a sweat or two while chasing after him, but I really got to act as crazy as I could be to keep him engaged, which actually worked and we got some amazing portraits! When it comes to photographing a firecracker like this, my style is unorthodox…. but effective. (to quote 70’s kung fu film: Enter the Dragon)
My heart melted after his big show of trike racin’ fun, he snuggled up with his mom and dad. What a sweetie. He kept us all laughing with his antics.
He absolutely loves dinosaurs which is great because I love them too and have lots of dino stuff in my studio. So, he got to read about dinos, stamp a picture of dinos, and roar like a dino.
And of course, near the end of our photo session, he got to do some bed jumping. I hope he slept well for mom and dad on the way home!
Thank you so much D family!! xx
