this was such a fun session, we began in their home and headed out to the greenway to finish up, just as the sun was beginning to sink.  they were adorable, their love for each other was evident and their love for their unborn baby was beautiful to witness!

and here’s a secret… i know the name they are thinking of and feel very privileged to be the only one!  we have a special photo about it… not that you’ll see that until after the baby is born!  but… i can assure you that it’s hands-down one of the best baby names i’ve heard and this is going to be one adorable little guy.

big sis was filled with giggles and smiles for the camera and wanted to show me everything, including how high she could jump on her bed (sorry, mom!).  she was so sweet and even gave me a beautiful painting as i left her house in addition to the hugs!  what a wonderful way to begin my day!  little sister had classic ’second child’ syndrome…. super laid-back, go with the flow baby, a dream to photograph!  both sisters had bright blue eyes and heartfelt smiles and i just fell in love with them!

a sneak peek for my blog readers…

on my way to this session i realized that i had lost my lucky bracelet that i have always had on my wrist at every photo session or wedding in the past 3 years. being a slightly superstitious person, it made me very nervous and i wondered if i was going to be cursed with bad photo mojo. as soon as this family pulled up, i completely forgot about my lost bracelet and proceeded to have one of my best sessions EVER, no bracelet necessary!

i love non-conservative families, being kind of a hippie chick myself. it melts me to see a beautiful baby girl against her daddy’s tattooed arm. this family just oozed happiness and love for one another… i think the french call it joie de vivre! they were such a delight.

her mommy found this amazing vintage radio flier scooter at a flea market and her daddy did the amazing line art!  lucky girl!

seriously, i don’t think i’ve ever seen a baby that was *this* happy to be in front of the camera!  she was amazing… anytime the camera lens pointed at her, she was overcome by the hugest smile ever.

The moment I walked in and saw this smiling baby reaching his little arms up so that I could pick him up and snuggle him, I knew this was going to be a great session, if only I could bring myself to put him down!  He is quite possibly the most cuddly little baby that I’ve ever photographed.  There were smiles for miles, and it was pretty apparent where they came from.  In fact, I don’t know who I fell for more, this little cutie or his super amazingly cool (and beautiful) mother.  She just had such a bright and contageous energy about her that makes you wonder if flowers bloom wherever she walks.

So I take credit for the brilliant idea of having two headstrong toddlers decorate cookies with all kinds of sprinkles.  While I must admit it was a great photo opp, the mess was pretty bad!  One canister of sprinkles thrown onto the floor (by my Willow!) I am STILL finding tiny pink balls rolling around.  Not sure who ate more cookie dough- the girls or my dogs.  I’m pretty positive one of my dogs consumed at least 4 raw cookies.  This is life with kids.  It’s always exciting, even a little messy, but definitely yummy!

What began as a joke from photographer Alicia Williams’ husband turned into a ‘pet’ project for me and Alicia  This is her newborn puppy, Juno.  She is so sweet and slightly narcoleptic… she sleeps ALL THE TIME!  What a dream come true for photographers!  How could we resist when given the perfect sleeping ‘baby’, the perfect light, the perfect blanket, and of course, the two of us camera-obsessed kooks… a portrait session was bound to happen!  Despite the kids’ demands to hold her, we managed to get a few cute shots!  She is such a sweet lil pup.
