I first met this blue eyed little boy when he was a few days old. His mother had me photograph him as a newborn baby in their home. He was beautiful then and it was a lovely photo shoot. I have had the pleasure of photographing this little guy a few times since then and the wonder of watching him grow up before my eyes– or camera! First… he slept for his pictures, then he started to sit up… wobbly at first and then strong, and now he is walking around, exploring the world with the kind of joy and wonder that children have! He is now a big boy about to become a big brother!
This is such a sweet, warm and loving family and their newest edition will be welcomed into their home with loving arms.
It is an honor to create your photos, P family! Thank you so much!
I have been working with this family since they were pregnant with their first baby boy. What a cool family to photograph! Both parents are beautiful inside and out and keep me laughing the whole time I’m with them. I was thrilled when I found out that mama was pregnant with baby number two and wanted me to do her maternity photo shoot! She is a poster model for pregnancy… so pretty and so sweet! Little baby G is amazing. He looks different from his brother, but just as handsome! I love how we re-created some photos from older bro N’s shoot with little G, so they can be hung together in their home. Mama is an interior designer which makes their home so perfect to photograph in! I am so happy to be your photographer W family… you all are wonderful and you know I adore you!
Wow… That was the word that came to mind when I met this Charlotte couple for the first time over coffee to chat about working as their photographer to capture their maternity portraits and baby pictures. What a beautiful, fresh and confident couple! They are clearly enamored with each other, and the idea of becoming parents! We spoke a little about how they met and what they enjoy, and decided to work at a horse farm that they board a horse at. I checked it out in advance and it was a gorgeous location, plus it has sentimental value to them as well.
They had asked about including their horse in their maternity photos. Photographers get asked all the time to include dogs, and sometimes even cats, but this was the first time that I got to include a horse! He is a big part of their family and a very sweet and handsome horse, so he added some depth to their pictures.
The day of our session went perfectly. Camera in hand, I got to bask in the glow of this beautiful couple expecting their first baby. I gave them a few simple suggestions, things to think about and talk about with each other, and the sweetness and emotion that came from them was magic for my camera!
How awesome does this mama to be look?! She needs to be a maternity clothing model or something!
J family, you are beautiful and I cannot wait to meet your baby soon!
To be continued…
One of my most favorite types of people to photograph are brand-spankin’-new people. The past few months I have had the opportunity to meet a few newborns as their families welcome them. One of the greatest joys as a photographer is watching families grow– watching parents go from dreaming what their baby will be like to holding her in their arms. Then watching that tiny little baby go from sleeping to smiling, to getting to know the world around her. Then seeing how she develops into a child, and that family connection deepening even more. Bringing another sibling is another step that I love to be a part of. Watching a little girl that I knew and photographed as a newborn welcome a sibling. Seeing how similar they are and yet how different. How their demeanor even as young as a week old shapes into who they become as a two year old. Babies are magical, it is always such an honor to be asked to photograph these little beings that are so big, so much potential, in this tiny, sweet body. This is something that touches me each time I see a baby.
This is a beautiful Charlotte family that welcomed another baby into their lives. We had a wonderful photo shoot together and their images are lovely.
Thank you so much R family for showing me your love, patience and the beauty of bringing two sweet girls into this world. The world needs more of you!
I haven’t worked with this lovin’ family since little A was less than a year old! Now she’s all big girl and helping to take care of her little brother. We had a postponement or two because of the erratic Charlotte weather and wanting to do an outdoor session but boy was it worth it… it ended up being a perfect fall morning session!! Just look at that sunlight!!! I love being a family photographer and watching families and children grow. It makes you appreciate your own too. Time goes by too fast sometimes.
Thank you so much B family!!
