dear baby boy,

your parents couldn’t wait till your arrival.  i first met them (and you) when i did your mother’s maternity session.  they were so obviously in love, so thrilled with their pregnancy, and so ready to hold you. you just came along and fit right into the family so perfectly!

you are a tiny but strong little newborn! you hardly fussed at all, but actually lifted your tiny head so you could look around.  you actually smiled for me several times!

and yawned big yawns…

and slept…

welcome to the world, you are going to be very, very loved by everyone that meets you.

Dear New Babies…

I was so happy to have met you!  Your beautiful auntie found me and felt like I would be worthy of making your very first portraits, a very special thing indeed!  The day that I met you, you were surrounded by your great, big, loving, Italian family.  I photographed you on a cold winter day, but we had plenty of cuddles to keep you warm!  When one of you began to fuss, your big brother would help to soothe you.  He loves you so much and is going to teach you so much as you grow!  Your family all helped to care for you and I don’t think your auntie or your grandma wanted to put you down for a second.

Thank you for being so sweet, so new, and so perfectly *you*!  BOTH of you!

I am excited to participate in the Cornwell Center’s 6th Annual Fall Festival Celebration and community road race at the Cornwell Center. The Cornwell Center is located at 2001 Selwyn Ave, Charlotte.  The festival is from 9:30 to noon.  It’s going to be a ton of fun with all kinds of activities for kids. There is a 5K and a 1K with the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald house of Charlotte.  Check out the flier here for more information on the event.

I’m going to have a display there and will be there to meet and greet.  There will be a free session with me that is going to be raffled off.  Also, there is this amazing new canvas that I just received that I’ll be showing off (more on that later).  

If you’re looking for something fun and fall-ish to do tomorrow to celebrate the gorgeous weather we’ve been having, please come by and while you’re there, be sure to say hi to me.

Oh, and there will be a petting zoo in case you need more incentive!!!

When you choose to have your portrait made by a custom photographer, you are essentially commissioning the photographer as an artist to preserve your family through their carefully crafted art.  A custom photographer will get to know your family, and most importantly, will create an experience where you have a chance to interact, play, and truly be yourselves.  The images created during this experience are more than a posed studio portrait.  They will be completely unique.  They will be art in their own right, worthy of a grand display above your fireplace.  They will tell a story about your family.  Your  curious toddler.  Your sleepy little newborn.  The images will be timeless, and will be handed down with sentiment from generation to generation.  

For me, personally, there is nothing more precious than time with the people that you love.  Having a piece of art that monumentalizes that time, that love, is priceless.  When homes are destroyed by fires or floods, it’s always the photographs that are the most missed.  Why?  It’s these carefully preserved bits of life that hold so much life, so much joy, so much love.  My house is loaded with wall art of my family.  It makes me really happy and makes my house feel alive.

We had the perfect vacation.  Pawleys Island is where we decided to beach it this year.  Perfect weather, amazing food (that I didn’t have to cook!), great company and probably one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to on the East coast.
